AIM
The Integrated Child Protection Scheme [ICPS] & the Juvenile Justice [Care & Protection of Children] Act 2015 , implemented by the District Child Protection Unit , Deogarh is expected to significantly contribute to the realization of Government responsibility for creating a system that will efficiently and effectively protect children.
OBJECTIVES
To contribute to the improvements in wellbeing of children in difficult circumstances , as well as to the reduction of vulnerabilities to situation and actions that lead to abuse , neglect , exploitation , abandonment and separation of children.
Activities
The major Activities of District Child Protection Unit are
- Effective implementation of the Acts & Provisions related to Child Protection such as Juvenile Justice [Care & Protection of Children] Act 2015 , Protection of Children from Sexual Abuse Act-2012 , Child Labour Prohibition & Regulation Act , PCM Act etc.
- Care , Support & Rehabilitative Services for Children in need of care & protection [CNCP] & Children In Conflict With Law [CICL]
- Emergency Out Reach Services including rescue & rehabilitation of Children
- Institutional Care such as Children Home , Open Shelter Home , Observation Home , Special Home ,Specialized Adoption Agency , etc.
- Family based Non-Institutional Care such as Sponsorship , Foster Care , Adoption
- Statutory Services such as Child Welfare Committee [CWC] , Juvenile Justice Board [JJB] and Special Juvenile Police Unit [SJPU]
- Other Activities such as Training, Sensitization, IEC , Advocacy , Child Tracking , Research & Documentation , Web enabled Information Management.
